Privacy Policy
Effective October 28, 2026
This policy explains what information The Way of the Acorn ("we," "us," or "I") collects when you visit thewayoftheacorn.com, sign up for emails, or become a member, and how that information is used. Questions? Email jo@thewayoftheacorn.com.
What we collect
- Information you give us. Your name and email address when you sign up for the Fearless Living Series or the Depression spiral guide, and anything you send through the contact form or by email.
- Membership and payment information. When you join, your account details and billing information are collected through Squarespace and its payment processor. We do not see or store your full card number.
- Usage information. Like most websites, we automatically collect basic information such as pages visited, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. This comes from Squarespace and Google Analytics.
How we use it
- To send you the emails you signed up for, including the Fearless Living Series and course updates.
- To provide your membership, course access, and weekly Friday Q&A calls.
- To process payments, cancellations, and refunds.
- To answer your messages.
- To understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies and analytics
The site uses cookies that Squarespace needs to run (for example, to keep you logged in and process checkout), and analytics cookies from Google Analytics to measure visits. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Who we share it with
Only the services that help run the site and the course:
- Squarespace: website hosting, email campaigns, memberships, and checkout.
- Payment processor: payments made through Squarespace checkout.
- Google: Google Analytics, and Google Drive for storing form sign-ups.
We may also share information if required by law.
Emails
Every email includes an unsubscribe link. You can unsubscribe at any time, and you'll stop receiving marketing emails. We may still send you account or billing emails if you're a member.
Keeping and deleting your information
We keep your information for as long as you're subscribed or a member, and as long as needed for legal, tax, and accounting reasons. To see, correct, or delete your information, email jo@thewayoftheacorn.com and we'll take care of it.
Children
This site is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update it on this page and change the effective date above.
