Part 4 of 4 — I’ll reveal the root cause of Depression and all suffering (hint: it’s probably not what you think).

In this part, I will show you the root cause of all your problems.

But before it will make sense, I need to break down a concept we’ve all had the displeasure of meeting: Fear.

For all of time, humans have lived under the whip of Fear:

“I want to be a doctor, but I’m too old to do seven years of school.”

“I want to say ‘I love you.’ to my family, but I’m afraid they’ll think I’m soft.”

“I want to try martial arts, but what if I suck?”

“I want to tell my boss I have too much work, but what if she thinks less of me?”

“I want to say how I truly feel, but what if they reject me?”

Fear often blocks what you want to do with a thought that says “but I can’t/shouldn’t because of X…”

Fear has no bounds. At every turn, it stops you from having and doing what you really want or being Who You Really Are.

It’s so prevalent, 99% of people believe it’s the only way to approach life.

“Do this or you will go to hell.” - religion

“Do this or you will go to jail.” - government

“Do this or you will get the raised eyebrow.” - Society

“Do this or you will be below others.” - dominance hierarchy

Do X or else you will experience that which you fear.

Most of us are really good at hiding it. But, deep down, we’re afraid and believe we should be.

Now it’s time to show you the root cause of all your problems:

It is the false belief that Fear means “Stop, don’t go that way.”

What if Fear didn’t mean “Stop.”

What if Fear instead meant, “Enter, if you dare to be courageous.”

That is an entirely different way of viewing the world.

Fear is no longer a blockage. Instead, it’s an invitation to grow out of old stories, notions, or identities.

When Fear no longer holds you back, you begin thinking, acting, and being differently.

In other words, you are Fearless.

Let’s look at life from this state:

“I want to be a doctor, but I’m old. That’s okay. Even though I’m 60, I’ll be done at 67. I’ll still have 10-20 years to do something I truly love. Let’s do it.”

“I want to say “I love you.” to my family, but I don’t want to seem soft. But is that really softness? I believe saying how I truly feel is an act of bravery, not weakness. Let’s do it.”

“I want to try martial arts but what if I suck? That’s okay, we all start somewhere. Let’s do it.”

“I want to tell my boss I have too much work but what if she thinks less of me? Well, it’s my job to let her know when I’m hitting my limit so we can troubleshoot, not to hide the truth until I burn out which helps no one. Let’s schedule a time with her.”

“I want to say how I truly feel, but what if they reject me? Well, if they reject me, then it wasn’t me they loved, but my compliance. Let’s do it.”

This is but a taste of a completely different way of seeing the world.

A different way of life I call Fearless Living.

This is a rare paradigm, but accessible to anyone who will embrace this path.

I wrote a series that will present you with insights to find, that, when you do, will shift your paradigm.
